TFO on Campus: Side-by-Side and Conducting Master Class

Event Type: Music
Facility: School of Music (MUS)
Presented By: School of Music
Description:
The Florida Orchestra is taking its mission of education straight to students with "TFO on Campus," a
series of workshops and performances with Music Director Michael Francis that explores making
music, from conducting to performing. The orchestra will hit two Tampa campuses - the University of
South Florida and University of Tampa - during the week of January 25th.

Side-by-Side and Conducting Master Class with Michael Francis
Michael Francis leads a side-by-side rehearsal with TFO and USF students on Mozart’s Symphony
No. 39. Then it’s the students’ turn, as USF graduate students conduct The Florida Orchestra in a
master class with Francis.

Free, open to the public

"TFO on Campus" is generously sponsored by Ginny Klein in memory of her late husband, Bill Klein,
an active supporter of The Florida Orchestra who believed music education should be a lifelong
journey.

"TFO on Campus" is part of the orchestra’s renewed mission to bring music to all people of Tampa
Bay in a wide range of formats, in and out of the concert hall. TFO also has expanded its reach with
free concerts in hospitals, universities, malls, parks and a veterans center this season.
