USF Faculty Recital: John Robison: Lutes/Recorder/Early oboe

Description: 
USF faculty member John Robison, along with guest artists Maggie Coleman (soprano) and Dana 
Milan (harpsichord), will present a varied program of Renaissance and Baroque music for diverse 
instruments. Dr. Robison will perform on both solo lute pieces from the English, Flemish, and German 
repertory c. 1600, as well as a solo archlute sonata by Zamboni. The program also includes English 
and Italian songs sung by Maggie Coleman with lute or archlute, and a seventeenth-century sonata 
by Pittoni for theorbo and continuo. John Robison and Dana Milan will also perform late Baroque 
sonatas by Telemann and other composers for Baroque oboe and continuo or recorder and continuo, 
and a sacred cantata with Maggie Coleman.
