Description: | | The first concert of the season for the USF Wind Ensemble will occur on October 1, 2017, at 2:00
pm in the School of Music Concert Hall. The title of this concert is "Symphonic Metamorphosis" and
features the work by the same name written by Paul Hindemith. All of the music to be presented is of
symphonic proportion, and all of it could be considered a metamorphosis of musical style and content.
A special feature of the concert will be a performance of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Other
selections include a new work entitled Undercurrents by Robert Buckley and the beautiful tone poem
October by Eric Whitacre. |
