Description: | | On Thursday, October 14, the USF Wind Ensemble will present "Let’s Dance", their second concert of the academic year. The concert explores several ways composers for wind band have explored human’s ability to dance joyfully, formally, or with abandon. Works include Giovanni Santos’ brand new “Three Latin Dances”, Warren Benson’s masterwork “The Solitary Dancer”, “Havana” by up-and-coming composer, Kevin Day, and one of the best pieces of the past 50 years, “J’ai ete au bal” by Donald Grantham. In addition, we are thrilled to introduce our new Saxophone Professor, Dr. Katherine Weintraub-Pearce as the soloist on “A Gershwin Fantasy”. There’s something for everybody on this free concert and we hope to see you there. |
