USF-PAMA Symposium Concert: Leonidas Lipovetsky |
Event Type: | | Music |
Facility: | | School of Music (MUS) |
Presented By: | | School of Music |
Description: | | The Second USF-PAMA-The Music Gallery Piano Pedagogy Symposium presents internationally
acclaimed pianist-pedagoge Leonidas Lipovetsky with an all-Beethoven Piano Sonata Concert. The
audience will have a rare opportunity to hear and watch the masterful art of well-balanced mind and
body in the Sonatas, Op.13, Op. 53, Op. 57 & Op.111. Lipovetsky's career spans 5 decades as
performer-pedagogue at Florida State University and world master classes. "He has grand style and
big-league technique...the sense of rhythmic timing to allow the music to breath and move with
inevitability. His program balanced virtuoso extroversion with contemplative quietness, utter
seriousness with light humor..." Joan Reinthaler, The Washington Post |
