| Description: | | 5 Minutes Till Midnight is a group exhibition at The Carolyn M. Wilson Gallery that will feature students from the University of South Florida’s College of The Arts, School of Art & Art History. Curated by senior BFA student Katie Richards, the exhibition will feature the diverse creative practices of students within the USF community.
The exhibition will explore the concept of the "World Clock," more commonly known as the "Doomsday Clock," which was set at five minutes to midnight in 2007 - the height of this generation’s
childhood. Growing up under the looming presence of global uncertainty has shaped our collective psyche, prompting us to cling to childlike wonder and imagination as a form of resilience against an
unpredictable future.
5 Minutes Till Midnight will examine the ongoing cycles of life, death, and rebirth through a lens of
curiosity and play. Emphasizing narrative, naivety, and imagination, the exhibition invites viewers to experience a world in flux - a continuous loop that echoes the ticking of the Doomsday Clock, which
remains ever in motion.
