A Concert of music from Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers

Featuring the USF Faculty Jazz Ensemble

The USF Jazz Studies Program presents an evening of classic jazz from the recordings of the great 
Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers.   From the 50’s through the 90’s, Art Blakey led the Jazz 
Messengers, a group which featured the best young talent in Jazz.  This evening’s concert will 
showcase music from many of those groups that included such jazz legends as Horace Silver, Clifford 
Brown, Hank Mobley, Junior Cook, Blue Mitchell, Bobby Timmons, Freddie Hubbard, Wayne Shorter, 
Curtis Fuller and Branford and Wynton Marsalis.
