Description: | | Vince Contarino is a Brooklyn-based artist and curator. He received his BFA from Ringling College in Sarasota, FL and has exhibited in and outside of NYC for the past decade. Awards and residencies
include The Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program and a 2012 Painting Fellowship from the New York Foundation for the Arts, where he currently serves on the Artist Advisory Committee for Painting.
Recent publications include "Frozen Mansfield", with poet Geoffrey Young and "Golden Age: Perspectives on abstract painting today", published by NUTUREart. His work has been covered in
Hyperallergic, The Brooklyn Rail, and SFAQ, among others. He previously organized numerous exhibitions as co-founder of the artist-run curatorial initiative, Progress Report and from 2015-18 was
a partner and co-director of Present Company, a Brooklyn-based exhibition and social space.
