This concert features Jazz Ensemble 1 with Guest Artist Rex Richardson, recording artist and noted performer, in concert with thus stellar 17 piece ensemble.  Rex Richardson teaches trumpet at Virginia Commonwealth University and travels all over the world as a Yamaha performing artist. Richardson’s influences include Freddie Hubbard and Woody Shaw,  and the program will include many arrangements that feature his virtuoso approach to jazz trumpet. Richardson has recorded over a dozen jazz CDs as a soloist and with various ensembles.
