What the Heart Remembers: Women and Children of Darfur

Event Type: Theatre
Facility: Theatre 2 (THR)
Presented By: School of Theatre
Description:
A multicultural, interdisciplinary, theatre-dance project, co-created & co-directed by Theatre & Dance Professors Fanni Green and Jeanne Travers. The piece focuses on the genocide in Darfur; it is
inspired by the artwork of Darfur children in refugee camps, and the interviews of their mothers and other women, conducted by British journalist, Rebecca Tinsley (founder of the international
organization Waging Peace).

"This production includes simulated rape scenes, and violence of other kinds, and may not be suitable for pre-teenaged children."
