Description: | | Kianga Ford is an Assistant Professor of Fine Arts/New Genres, School of Art, Media and Technology at the Parsons School of Design. Kianga is an artist whose projects, which combine installation and site-specific strategies, often highlight the intersections between media and space. Her work engages sounds inherent capacities for creating immersive fields and technologies, like Max MSP, that have been specifically designed to enhance the spatial dimensions of media work. Though her current concerns gravitate organically toward sound, her training, teaching, and practice
have all focused on concept-directed forms, and she continues to work across a broad range of media, from more traditional new genres, like video and performance, to collaborations in
mathematics and new architechtural media.
This lecture is sponsored by the Stuart S. Golding Endowment in Modern and Contemporary Art.
