The University of South Florida Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of William Wiedrich, opens this 
program with the fiery, yet charming, "Festival Overture" of Dmitri Shostakovich. Andrew Karr of the 
Florida Orchestra and Professor of Horn at USF will be featured in Richard Strauss's stunning "Horn 
Concerto No. 2." The second half will feature Arthur Honegger's delicate and lovely "Pastorale 
D'ete" and Paul Hindemith's masterful "Symphony: Mathis der Maler."
