Description: | | USF Jazz Ensemble I with special Guest Artist Rodney Whitaker, bassist, recording artist and eductor.
The USF Jazz Ensemble I will present a concert with special guest- Rodney Whitaker on February 13, at 7:30 in the Concert Hall at the USF School of Music. Reknowned bassist, recording artist and educator Rodney Whitaker will be performing with and leading the 17 piece jazz ensemble in a concert of classis jazz selections, including Duke Ellingtons’s famous composition “Jack the Bear”, written to feature Ellington’s ground breaking bassist, Jimmy Blanton.
The USF Jazz Ensemble I has gained wide recognition as a premier jazz ensemble, having performed with a long list of great jazz artists, and International jazz festival tours.
The USF Jazz Ensemble I is Directed by Professor Tom Brantley.
