Recording artist Alexis Cole will perform with the USF Jazz Ensemble 1 under the direction of Professor Tom Brantley. The 17 piece ensemble will perform music from some of Alexis’ latest CD projects. 

This concert is part of the USF New Tampa Jazz series – a concert series held in the 450 seat concert venue at the brand new New Tampa Performing Arts Center, in partnership with USF Music and the Tampa Jazz Club. 

Alexis Cole - A dozen albums into her career, vocalist Alexis Cole is hitting her stride.  She’s the founder and director of the online educational community JazzVoice.com, and the artistic director of the Virginia Beach Vocal Jazz Summit. Her student Samara Joy won the 2023 Grammy for Best New Artist.  Alexis’ latest release Sky Blossom: Songs from My Tour of Duty reflects the repertoire created for her to sing with 18 piece big band during her time as the vocalist for the Army’s Jazz Knights. 2023 sees her touring the world with Both Sides of Joni, a reimagining of Joni Mitchell’s music.
