Description: | | The purpose of the symposium is to bring together researchers and educators from a broad range of
disciplines, including but not limited to cognitive development, psychology, sociology, aging studies,
early childhood education, K-12 music, neuropsychology, and emerging fields such as mind brain
education. Research exploring music in all settings (e.g., community, home, school, individual, and
group), at all age levels from prenatal through the entire lifespan, from all musical traditions, and with
regard to all aspects of music is invited. The symposium will foster national and international
collaborations on research projects that serve to advance music learning at all stages of the lifespan
as well as to advance public understanding of research-to-practice.
