Guzheng is a traditional Chinese musical instrument with a history of at least 2000 years. It has an 

attractive elegance in its sound and posture with 21 strings. This recital includes traditional and 

contemporary Chinese solo pieces as well as pieces with special guests. The soloist in this recital is 

Dan Yang, Associate Professor and Deputy Dean of the School of Music and Dance, Hunan First 

Normal University, China, who is currently a visiting scholar at the School of Music, University of 

South Florida.
