"This two-night event begins with a New Orleans-style Mardi Gras celebration on Tuesday, followed by the premiere of Black Composers Vespers, a cantata by Allyssa Jones, on Wednesday. The Mardi
 Gras concert features music by Black jazz musicians, historical and living, who are considered part of the cultural fabric of New Orleans, the birthplace of jazz. Black Composers Vespers featuring 
concert works, sacred music and spoken word by Black composers and writers. Make plans to attend both!
