Jazz Ensemble 2, under the direction of USF Jazz Faculty member, Ross Strauser and Graduate Assistant, Anthony Garcia.  This concert will feature the music of Thelonious Sphere Monk, arranged 

for big band.  Monk was a pianist and composer and was a key figure in making Jazz America s only Art form invented right here va in the United States.  His music formed what is called Bebop, which is 

serious concert music, not dance music.  With February being Black History Month, this concert fits that bill!
