Symbiotic

Event Type: Exhibition
Facility: Carolyn M. Wilson Gallery
Presented By: School of Art & Art History
Description:
The School of Art and Art History presents Symbiotic, an art exhibition curated by art history students Jeanie Ambrosio, Alyssa Cordero, Mariana Gomez, Erin Hughes, SK West and Mitchell Brooks;
featuring artworks by Pat Blocher, Ben Galaday, Muriel Holloway, Jim Mastroni, Laura Meckling, Carola Miles, Jason Pinckard, Jake Troyli, and Taylor Thomas. Symbiotic refers to a biological
relationship between organisms that is mutually beneficial, describing here the relationship between artworks and writing in the forms of art criticism and literature. The exhibition is experimental in form
and content, responding artistically to theoretical and literary texts, considering how and if the visual can articulate the written and revealing how writing often frames our understanding of contemporary
art. A reception will be held Friday, February 16, 7-9pm. This event is free and open to the public.
