Description: | | FloodZone presents Miami-based artist Anastasia Samoylova’s ongoing photographic series reflecting the impacts of sea level rise in South Florida, and highlighting the friction between natural and
constructed landscapes by focusing on the relationship among environmentalism, consumerism, and the picturesque. Capturing the precarious psychological state of living in a paradise sinking towards
catastrophe, Samoylova’s work reveals the role photography plays in obscuring reality and crafting perception. This exhibition is curated by Sarah Howard, and organized by USF Contemporary Art
Museum. |
