Description: | | On Thursday, March 1, 2018, the USF Wind Ensemble will be giving its first concert of the Spring
semester. It is entitled "Continental Crossings," and features music that represents diverse musical
influences from across the planet. Selections will include Reflections on an Old Japanese Folk Song,
composed by Philip Sparke; Vranjanka (Serbia) by Kenneth Hesketh, Irish Tune from County Derry by
Percy Grainger, Concerto for Marimba by Christopher Theofinidas, and Passacaglia, Homage on
BACH by Ron Nelson. During this concert, a special tribute will be made to David Maslanka who
recently passed away with a performance of his Requiem. |
