Art Exhibition by Margaret Curnow & Tamesha Kirkland

Event Type: Exhibition
Facility: Fine Arts Hall (FAH)
Presented By: School of Art & Art History
Description:
The works on exhibit aim to re-invent desolate, abandoned, and impoverished spaces through the use of charcoal, and painting mediums varying from a rather literal representation to a more abstract interpretation, often times creating a tension between two. The artists’ works explore the relationship an observer has to a particular environment. The environments being observed often have the capacity to exhibit characteristics of struggle, loneliness, and deprivation. These environmental characteristics are present in the works. The works on exhibit shed light on the forgotten spaces in communities found in Tampa Bay, Boston, and NYC. We seek to restore these spaces through art and celebrate the beauty and presence of these environments.
