Description: | | This Spring, USF’s Opera Workshop program will present "The Mother of us All" by Virgil Thompson.
This contemporary American opera is set to text by Gertrude Stein. It chronicles the life of Susan B.
Anthony and the development of women’s suffrage in the United States. In a style that is a
combination of Americana and whimsical fancy, this fascinating work combines historical and fictional
characters from many different periods of American History and folklore. Be prepared for an evening
of beautiful music, fascinating historical perspective and a touch of the bizarre! |
