Monday Night Jazz Series: THE GARY VERSACE TRIO |
Event Type: | | Music |
Facility: | | School of Music (MUS) |
Presented By: | | School of Music |
Description: | | Gary Versace is one of the most captivating and versatile voices on the current jazz scene, a
keyboard artist who is always found in interesting places. In addition to his own bands, you’ll find
Versace - whether on piano, organ, or accordion - on recordings by John Scofield, the Maria
Schneider Orchestra, Kurt Elling, Regina Carter, and many others. He appeared twice on NPR’s
‘Piano Jazz’ with Marian McPartland, who called his playing ‘endlessly inventive.’ A former faculty
member at the University of Oregon, he appears internationally as educator and guest soloist, and will
bring his New York-based trio to USF for a very special evening of Monday Night Jazz. |
