Description: | | Internationally renowned Polish clarinetist and conductor Jan Jakub Bokun
has performed in most European countries, USA, Mexico, United Arab Emirates,
Japan, China, Chile and Argentina. He is the founder and artistic director of Inter-
Camerata Chamber Orchestra and the Clarimania festival, held bi-annually in
Wroclaw, Poland. He studied the clarinet at the Wroclaw Academy of Music and
with Guy Dangain at Conservatoire de Paris. In May 2001, he received the Master
of Music in Conducting degree from the University of Southern California in Los
Angeles.
J.J. Bokun has won acclaim and recognition as a prizewinning soloist and chamber
musician, at competitions in Wroclaw, Wloszakowice, Enschede and Mt. Pleasant.
He was a prizewinner at the Third Witold Lutoslawski Conducting Competition in
Bialystok, Poland, where he also received the Orchestra Award. J.J.Bokun has
represented Poland in Clarinetfests held in Ostend, Stockholm, Tokyo, Lincoln and
Assisi. He has been invited to give master classes in Poland, Bulgaria, the Czech
Republic, Japan, France, Spain, China, Mexico, Serbia and Belgium.
Mr. Bokun has recorded for Polish Radio and TV. He has released 10 solo albums
with Koch Classics, JB Records and DUX, all received with great critical acclaim.
J.J. Bokun is on the faculty of the Wroclaw Academy of Music where he teaches
clarinet and chamber music. He is the Polish chairman of the International Clarinet
