Cameron Gainer is the Spring 2008 Institute for Research in Art and School of Art and Art History Artist-in-Residence. Gainer’s residency is jointly supported by the College of Visual and Performing 
Arts, the School of Art and Art History, the IRA, and the USF Botanical Gardens.  Gainer’s residency culminates in an exhibition at CAM that features two outdoor sculptures based on well-known 20th 
century hoaxes. Gainer models and sites these sculptures from photographs; often the only form of evidence that sightings actually occurred. Recent exhibitions of Gainer’s work include The Fabric 
Workshop and Museum, Philadelphia, PA, Sculpture Key West, Key West, FL, NYC Parks 40th, NY, NY, Socrates Sculpture Park, Long Island City N.Y, the Jonathan Shorr Gallery NY, NY. His films and 
videos have been exhibited at Video Dia Loghi, Torino, Italy, The Chicago Art Institute, Illinois, and the Split Film Festival, Split, Croatia."
