USF Wind Ensemble: A Glorious Day |
Event Type: | | Music |
Facility: | | School of Music (MUS) |
Presented By: | | School of Music |
Description: | | "A Glorious Day" is the title of the USF Wind Ensemble’s final concert of the season which occurs on
Thursday evening, April 20, at 7:30 pm in the School of Music Concert Hall. It is also the title of one
of the selections to be performed. It was the second wind band composition to be encouraged by
Edwin Franko Goldman, the father of the modern wind band repertoire. Of special note, Ingolf Dahl’s
Sinfonnietta will be the centerpiece of the concert. It is perhaps the most acclaimed composition for
wind band. Several other selections will be performed, ranging from a rollicking circus march entitled
Bennet’s Triumphal to the tone poem descriptive of the city of Tulsa. It will be an exciting concert
and a great way to spend your time. |
