Serenade/The Proposition is a special collaboration between the Dance and Theatre departments under the direction of members of the Bill T. Jones Arnie Zane Dance Company. In recent years, the company has produced exciting work at the juncture of the two disciplines, creating compelling pieces of dance theatre. Serenade/The Proposition approaches the legacy of Abraham Lincoln as a "rumination on the nature of history", incorporating spoken word, video, a folk/classical music pastiche, and the fiercely graceful choreography that exemplifies the work of this outstanding company. |
