Event Type: Music
Facility: School of Music (MUS)
Presented By: School of Music
Description:
This concert will feature two of the most significant compositions for wind band. Music for Prague,
1968 by Pulitzer prize winning composer Karel Husa, is a graphic aural depiction of the rebellion in
Czechoslovakia and the subsequent overwhelming reaction by Soviet Russia. Another great story
to be portrayed will be the glory of the West Point Army Academy with the performance of Symphony
No. 4 written by Morton Gould. William Walton’s Spitfire Fugue will be played as well as several other
