Impact Sight Opening Reception at the Botanical Gardens

Event Type: Reception
Facility:
Presented By: USF Institute for Research in Art
Description:
On April 19, 1934 at approximately 7:30 AM Robert Kenneth Wilson, a British gynecologist, reportedly caught sight of an unidentified object emerging from the depths of Lake Ness and succeeded in
taking its photograph. The subsequent picture came to be known as "The Surgeon’s Photo," named after its maker, and provided evidence for those who followed the legend of the Loch Ness Monster.
Artist Cameron Gainer has deftly re-imagined this iconic image in full-scale at the USF Botanical Gardens Lake Behnke as part of his exhibition at CAM.
