Jazz Masterworks Series Presents:  A concert of the music of Jim McNeely, with the composer and musical director of the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra directing the 17-piece Jazz Surge.  Jim McNeely is acknowledged as one of the most significant composers of contemporary jazz – writing for jazz ensemble throughout the world.  In addition, this concert will feature highlights of the Jazz Surge’s new CD release dedicated to the music of Michael Brecker.
