Admission:
The USF Double Reed is for all oboe, English horn, and bassoon players, ages 13 and older.
Fees:
Resident Student: $525.00 (includes room & board)
Non-Resident Student: $350.00 (includes lunches)
ALL registrations and payments will be done online at http://music.arts.usf.edu. Medical release
forms and maps may also be printed from the website. Medical forms must accompany the student
the first day of camp or, if you prefer, this may be mailed to :

Registration and payments are due by May 27, 2013. The full payment is refundable (less an
administrative fee of $100.00) if the applicant cancels by June 3rd, 2013.

Schedule of Events:
- A typical day includes all or part of the following: reed classes, ensemble rehearsals, master classes,
private lessons, practice time, and group free time.
- A final concert will be given in the School of Music Concert Hall on Saturday, June 22nd, at 2:00pm
and will feature all the participating ensembles.
- A faculty concert will be given during the week of camp.
- Registration will begin at 1:00pm on Sunday, June 16th.
- Tools for the reed classes will need to be purchased beforehand. A list of suppliers will follow.
Sample Daily Schedule:
Monday-Friday
8:00am-8:45am Breakfast - Cafeteria
9:00am-10:15am Reed Class
10:30am-12:00pm Da’ "Bull" Reed Band Rehearsal
12:00pm-1:00pm Lunch
1:00pm-2:00pm Masterclass
2:00pm-3:00pm Chamber Rehearsals
3:00pm-4:30pm Reed Camps
What to Bring:
Snacks and Drinks
Linens: 2 sheets, pillowcase, towel and washcloth
Personal Toiletries: including shampoo and soap
Clothing: Students should bring at least one change of clothes for each day of camp. Bring casual,
hot-weather clothing. T-shirts and shorts must reflect good taste, and comfortable shoes. Pack an
umbrella in case of rain.
Concert clothing: Camp t-shirt (will be provided) and full-length blue jeans.
Rehearsals: All students must bring their own instrument.
Food & Housing:
Resident campers will be housed in the University of South Florida Maple Suites, located on the
corner of Holly Drive and USF Maple Drive, on the main USF campus, in Tampa.
Food will be provided in either the student cafeteria or on some day catered at the School of Music.
Check-In Sunday,
June 16th at 1:00pm:
Resident students will report directly to the Maple Suites. Counselors wil stay in the dorms with the
students. The students are supervised AT ALL TIMES. Non-resident students will register in the
School of Music lobby.
