Cotton Comes to Harlem Film Screening

Description: 
Screened in conjunction with the current USFCAM exhibition Black Pulp, this action comedy was directed in 1970 by Ossie Davis. The Hollywood production is based on the eponymous novel by 
Chester Himes, an American writer noted for his ground breaking crime novels set in Harlem. The film will be preceded by a brief discussion with Dr. Cheryl Rodriguez, Director of the USF Institute for 
Black Life, and USFCAM curator Noel Smith.
