Description: | | On Sunday, June 26, 2016, beginning at 7:30 pm in the concert hall of the USF School of Music, the Florida Wind Band will be presenting the final concert of the season entitled "We Salute America."
The program will contain a number of wind band masterpieces including Flag of Stars by Gordon Jacob, Chester by William Schuman, Suite of Old American Dances by Robert Russell Bennett, and
An American Elegy by Frank Ticheli. Other works to be performed include "An Armed Forces Salute," and Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever." Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and
will be accessible on the day of the concert at the School of Music Box Office. The price is $10.00 for students and seniors, $15.00 general admission. The Florida Wind Band is recognized as one of
the finest bands in the country, and they have been presenting concerts in the Tampa Bay Area for the last eight and a half years. The founder and conductor is Dr. John C. Carmichael. He also serves
as the Director of Bands at the University of South Florida and has conducted internationally in the
countries of Jordan, Costa Rica, Russia, Mexico and England. |
