Description: | | The University of South Florida Summer Band Camps provide woodwind, brass, and percussion
students with experiences that will allow them to expand their musicianship at the individual and
ensemble levels. Our High School and Middle School camps are run simultaneously and give
musicians a challenging, positive learning environment based upon their current musical
development. Eligible students include those entering grades 7-12 in the Fall of 2014, and all
participants must have had at least one year of experience in a Middle School or High School band
program.
Throughout the week campers will be presented with opportunities including Music Theory, Chamber
Ensembles, Master Classes, Electives, Full Wind-Band Performances, Social Activities, and more.
High School campers will have their choice of Conducting, Piano, and Marching Band Leadership as
an elective, while Middle School campers will have their choice of Conducting, Piano, and Guitar as
an elective. Participants will perform in two ensemble settings throughout the week with both groups
featured in our finale concert on Friday afternoon.
Whether entering high school or preparing for college, our professional instructors and certified staff
can assist young musicians in taking their musical abilities to the next level. If you need further
assistance or have additional questions, please visti music.arts.usf.edu and click the
"Summer Camps" link on the right side of the page, or contact us via email at BandCamps@usf.edu.
Camp enrollment began January 8th, and we hope to have you join us this summer. |
