Description: | | The University of South Florida Summer Band Camps provide wind-band and percussion students
with experiences that will allow them to expand their musicianship both at the individual and
ensemble levels. Our High School and Middle School camps are run simultaneously in order to
provide musicians with a challenging, yet positive learning environment based upon their current
musical development. Eligible students include those entering grades 7-12 in the Fall of 2013, and all
participants must have had at least one year of experience in a High School or Middle School band
program.
Throughout the week, campers will be presented with opportunities that include Music Theory,
Chamber Ensembles, Master Classes, Electives (Conducting, Guitar, Piano, Music Composition), Full
Wind-Band Performances, Social Activities, and more. Participants will perform in two concerts
throughout the week, including our finale concerts on Friday afternoon. Students will also have the
opportunity to become a featured soloist in our Thursday evening Chamber Winds Concert based
upon the results of our Artist Competition auditions. Details about chair placement and artist
competition auditions can be found under the "Student Info" tab at http://music.arts.usf.edu/summer-band-camps
Whether entering high school or preparing for college, our professional instructors and certified staff
can assist young musicians in taking his or her musical abilities to the next level. If you need further
assistance, or have additional questions, please contact us at BandCamps@usf.edu.
