Description: | USF music professor John Robison presents an abso-lute-ly delightful program of solo music for 10-course Renaissance lute and its longer-necked Baroque relatives (theorbo, archlute). The program features solo lute music by English, French, German, and Italian composers (Holborne, Melii, Francisque, Mertel, Waissel), solo theorbo music by Piccinini, and archlute pieces by Zamboni. All genres of early instrumental music will be represented on the program, including preludes, dance music, variations, fantasias, and sonatas. | |
