Description: | | The USF Confucius Institute, USF World, and School of Music present a variety of traditional
Chinese music for the guzheng, guqin and pipa, as well as contemporary music for Chinese and
Western instruments. The featured guest artist is guzheng virtuoso Deng Haiqiong, along with visiting
scholar Zhan Jingyi on pipa, visual artist Nan Liu, Professor Bob McCormick and the USF Percussion
Ensemble, tuba teacher Jay Hunsberger, pianist Megasari Honggokusuma, and composer Chihchun
Lee. The well-known Chinese music on the program includes Blossoms on Spring Moonlit Night, The
Ambush, and Plum Blossom Melodies. Of special interest is the world premiere of Double Concerto for
Tuba, Zheng and Percussion Orchestra by award-winning composer Chihchun Lee
