Description: | | Professor John Robison presents a program of music for the Renaissance lute, Baroque theorbo, and
Baroque archlute. The concert will be devoted to lute music written between c. 1580 and 1620 for
the highly distinctive ten-course late Renaissance lute (John Dowland, Diomedes Cato, Anthoine
Francisque, Elias Mertel, Nicholas Vallet), and music for theorbo and archlute from 1620- 1720 (Pietro
Paolo Melii, Giovanni Zamboni). Elizabethan lute songs and 17th-century songs with soprano Maggie
Coleman will also be included. |
