Guest Artist Recital: David Aladashvili

Event Type: Music
Facility: School of Music (MUS)
Presented By: School of Music
Description:
Behold! World-renowned and Juilliard-trained Georgian pianist, David Aladashvili, will give a solo
piano recital at the University of South Florida, that will not only transcend his audience with his
interpretations of Beethoven, Schumann, Scriabin and Shostakovich, but also challenge the
centuries old superstitions behind "Friday the 13th," by performing only the Opus 13 works of these
great composers. The Number Twelve might be a symbol of completeness with twelve months in a
year, hours of the clock, Gods of Olympus, Apostles of Jesus and signs of the Zodiac, but being born
on Friday the 13th himself, David Aladashvili will turn the "Opus 13" performance on Friday,
September 13th, 2013, into the luckiest event in town.
