The University of South Florida Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of William Wiedrich, opens its
exciting 2013-14 season with Tchaikovsky’s beloved and monumental Symphony No. 4 in F minor.
Opening the program will be Beethoven's "Overture to Leonore #3" (one of the four overtures
composed for his opera "Fidelio"). The centerpiece of the program features USF Professor of
Trombone Tom Brantley performing Christopher Rouse's Pulitzer Prize-winning "Concerto for
Trombone," dedicated to Leonard Bernstein and based on themes from his "Kaddish Symphony."
